The last post was on Good Friday, but I've not been able to continue with any projects because I was away for the Easter holidays. And then again for a further week, with no access to RMVXA.
This now means that my RMVXA trial now has 8 days of trial time left. I don't think it's really that useful for a program to have a 30-day trial based on the actual install date rather than the number of days used, especially given that it's not a viable option to access the program every day, thereby maximising the trial period. I've only used the trial a maximum of 9 days out of the 30-day trial thus far.
As it stands today, I have 8 days left to the trial. I don't know what's now going to happen with the Paranormality 1: Darkling demo, since I'm not sure if a week is sufficient to produce enough material for a playable demo. Probably only a basic one. So now the quandary is whether to continue with it, for which I'm only able to spend about an hour each day on the project, and attempt to produce a small playable demo or another storyline video. After the trial period expires, the project will be deferred until later.
I simply can't afford $90. It's not viable for me; work doesn't pay enough for creature comforts above basic rent, utilities and food. The paycheck I was expecting, which would pay for two-thirds of it, has been deferred a month (the rest I'd be able to fund on my own). The "makers of the maker" have offered a one-week-remaining discount of 15%, but I'm short. Oh, the vicissitudes of life!
I don't know at this point where it's going. I am currently taking a Ruby script course (another one), so even after the trial ends and even if I can't finish the Darkling project, I still have RMVX, which will be the main focus for a while afterwards.

15 Comments So Far:
Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which
blog platform are you using for this site? I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

I'm using Blogger with a modified theme from Skin Corner (link at the bottom).
As far as Wordpress hackers, I'd recommend self-hosting it a Boxhost, with the added Antivirus and Firewall plugins that are available.
Wordpress is my favoured platform only because of its versatility, Blogger does tend to be somewhat limited (especially true of their new Dynamic Layouts), but al in all both serve their purposes equally.
Hello, I think your site might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog site in Chrome, it looks fine but when opening in
Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, fantastic blog!
Also visit my homepage - where to download sonic producer
Hi, thanks for the headsup. It loads in Chrome and Firefox just fine, but I don't use IE. However, that said when I did test in IE at higher resolution it appeared to be fine. The layout size is fixed and not dynamic.
And thanks for visiting!
Admiring the dedication you put into your website and detailed information you provide.
It's nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same out of date rehashed information.
Wonderful read! I've saved your site and I'm adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
Feel free to surf my site - Great Britain Yellow Pages
Thanks! :)
Although I don't update as much as I'd like, I do try and keep things fresh. (I've also checked out your website. Very useful to me, so I bookmarked it!)
Although this isn't an RPG Maker related question per se, I'd be happy to answer it. You can do that in the ".htaccess" file with a redirect. It's better to research a how-to on that yourself for the most up-to-date info.
Hey there! I am about to start my own website and was wondering if you know where the best place
to purchase a website url is? I am not even sure if
that's what its called? (I'm new to this) I'm referring to "http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2968510622185898812&postID=1519292573357445679". How do I go about acquiring one of these for the website I'm making?
Thankyou

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content
seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I'd post to let you know.
The layout look great though! Hope you get the issue solved
soon. Kudos

Go Daddy is a good place to purchase domain names. A free alternative is Co.cc, where you can register (free for personal and $3 for businesses) and reroute the DNS settings on a regular webhost.
Check out RPG Maker Companion for an example of this. You can also add "/blog" after the URL for a referral to this blog.
The blog appears to work just fine in Opera (3 versions) this end. Resolution or settings may be an issue.
Video entries usually showcase other people's work, or topics of interest regarding RPG Maker, and relying on videos to make a point (given that this is under "RMVXA Trial Time Running Out" your comment is irrelevant). If you deign to search the blog thoroughly you will find that posts are not exclusively video-orientated, as your comment infers, and there is much more content than videos.
Howdy are using Wordpress for your blog platform?
I'm new to the blog world but I'm trying to get started and create
my own. Do you need any html coding expertise to make
your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Look at my site :: holiday candle holders
This blog is Blogger, but I also use Wordpress. You don't really need HTML expertise, although knowing the basics helps (along with basic CSS). I love your site, but I'd recommend changing the background colour of your posts to a paler white or cream colour. If you need some additional basic help, I'll point you in the right direction. You can contact me on Facebook or RPG Maker Times Companion (in a few days I'll put a contact form there).
Thank you for your help. I will play with my background colors! Glad you liked my site. I can't wait to get the hang of this blogger thing!
